Seven Card Stud Video Poker
After playing endless five-card draw video poker games, sometimes you really just need to change things up. Games like Seven Stud poker are perfect for this task because they are so completely different from anything you've played before. As the name clearly states, this is the video poker equivalent of a seven-card stud poker game. There are multiple betting rounds, seven cards, Jokers are wild, and they incorporated a special seven-card double or nothing bonus round to make things even more interesting.
When you start the game, you will see that there are enough spaces for seven cards, but you can't see any of them yet. After setting you coin denomination, you can make an opening bet and click on the Deal button to receive the first and third cards of your hand. Make another bet, click Deal, and you'll get be able to see your fifth card. Next, repeat the process with your third bet to unveil the sixth card. Finally you can make your fourth wager and see all of the remaining cards (2nd, 4th, and 7th). There is nothing you can do to change your hand or your wagers at this point, so the computer will automatically create the best five-card poker hand out of your seven cards and compare it to the pay table in order to calculate whether or not you have won.
Since you cannot modify your hand (as in draw poker) the strategy for Seven Stud video poker is based entirely around your betting. Each bet can range from one to five coins. To force you to play aggressively, the game states that no bet can be larger than the one that came before it. Considering the fact that you need at least a three of a kind to get any kind of winnings, you will never be able to have a winning hand until at least your second wager. In most cases, you will have to go to three or four bets before you can be sure that you have a strong hand.
